This Privacy Policy describes how the StreamEasy application (the “App”), published by the StreamEasy team (the “Developer”, “we”, “us”), handles your information. It applies uniformly to every distribution of the App listed below.
1. Editions covered by this Policy
StreamEasy is published as four distinct editions on Google Play, sharing the same code base:
- StreamEasy for Google TV / Android TV — free, ad-supported. Package:
br.com.frazo.streameasy.free. - StreamEasy Pro for Google TV / Android TV — paid, no ads. Package:
br.com.frazo.streameasy.pro. - StreamEasy for Android phones & tablets — free, ad-supported. Package:
br.com.frazo.streameasy.mobile.free. - StreamEasy Pro for Android phones & tablets — paid, no ads, with Picture-in-Picture and additional features. Package:
br.com.frazo.streameasy.mobile.pro.
Each section below states which editions it applies to. Differences between editions are limited to (a) whether ads are served and (b) which optional features are present; the core data-handling model is identical across all four.
2. Information stored on your device
Applies to: all editions.
To do its job, the App stores the following entirely on the device where it is installed:
- IPTV server profiles. The server URL, username and password you enter for any Xtream Codes–compatible service. Stored using Android
EncryptedSharedPreferences(AES-256 / Android Keystore). - Playback state. Watch history, favourites and resume positions, kept in a local Room database to power features like “Continue watching”.
- User preferences. UI language, selected profile, accent colour, sort options and other in-app settings, kept in Android DataStore.
- Catalogue cache (transient). A short-lived in-memory copy of the catalogue returned by your IPTV server, used for browsing and search; cleared when the App is closed.
The Developer does not have access to any of the above. None of it leaves your device through the App, except when the App contacts the IPTV server you yourself configured in order to fetch the catalogue or stream a media item.
3. Information sent to third parties
3.1 Your IPTV provider
Applies to: all editions.
Every request to load a channel, movie, series or episode is sent directly from your device to the URL of the server you configured. The IPTV provider you chose will receive your credentials and stream requests according to their privacy policy. We have no control over and no visibility into that traffic. They — not the Developer — are the data controller for whatever they receive from you.
3.2 Google AdMob and Google IMA (mobile free edition only)
Applies to: StreamEasy for Android phones & tablets (free) only. The TV editions and the mobile Pro edition do not initialize any advertising SDK.
The free phone & tablet edition displays advertising provided by Google AdMob and, for in-stream video pre-rolls, by the Google Interactive Media Ads (IMA) SDK, in the following formats:
- Banner ads (AdMob) shown at the bottom of catalogue, history and search screens.
- Interstitial ads (AdMob) shown before playback begins, no more than once every 15 minutes per device.
- In-stream video pre-rolls (Google IMA) shown before a Live TV channel, movie or episode starts, subject to the same frequency cap.
For the data processed by the AdMob and IMA SDKs, Google is the data controller. The SDKs may collect and share the following for ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention:
- Advertising ID (resettable, controlled by the Android OS).
- IP address.
- Coarse device information (model, OS version, language, app version).
- Ad interaction events (impressions, clicks, view time, diagnostic data).
- Privacy Sandbox signals on Android 13+ (Topics, Attribution, Ad ID services).
This processing is governed by Google's policies:
You can reset or limit ad tracking from your Android device's system settings: Settings → Privacy → Ads on phones & tablets (or Settings → Google → Ads on older devices). Resetting the advertising ID generates a new one; opting out of ad personalization makes Google deliver only non-personalized ads.
The paid (Pro) phone & tablet edition does not include any advertising SDK and does not contact AdMob or IMA. The TV editions (both free and Pro) do not initialize AdMob or IMA and do not contact them; the Google TV / Android TV form factor is not currently served ads by AdMob.
4. What we do not do
Applies to: all editions.
- We do not maintain any backend server that receives your data.
- We do not collect analytics events about how you use the App.
- We do not collect crash reports through a third-party service.
- We do not include Firebase, Facebook SDK, Branch, AppsFlyer, Adjust, or any similar tracking / attribution SDK.
- We do not sell, rent or share information with data brokers.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, files, location, microphone or camera.
5. Children
Applies to: all editions.
The App is not directed to, and is not intended for, children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in the user's jurisdiction). The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is not part of the Google Play Families program. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has used the App, you may contact us to request deletion of any local data; uninstalling the App also wipes all locally stored data.
6. Permissions used by the App
The App requests only the Android permissions strictly needed for its declared functions. Different editions request different subsets, as detailed below.
6.1 Permissions used by every edition
android.permission.INTERNET— required to reach the IPTV server you configured.android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE— used to detect loss of connectivity during playback and show an appropriate message.android.permission.WAKE_LOCK— used by the Android Media3 / ExoPlayer library to keep audio/video playback alive when the screen would otherwise sleep.android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICEandandroid.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PLAYBACK— required by the media playback service that keeps the audio/video session alive in the background.
6.2 Additional permissions on free editions
Applies to: free editions only.
com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_IDandandroid.permission.AD_ID— required so AdMob can read the resettable Advertising ID that the Android OS provides for ad delivery and frequency capping.android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID,android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION,android.permission.ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS— Android Privacy Sandbox permissions used by AdMob on Android 13+ to deliver ads while honouring the OS-level privacy framework.
The TV free edition does not declare these permissions: the AdMob SDK is not bundled in the TV editions (a planned future migration to Google Ad Manager will re-introduce it on the TV free edition only).
6.3 Additional permission on the mobile Pro edition
Applies to: StreamEasy Pro for Android phones & tablets only.
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS— on Android 13+, required to display the standard Android media notification (play / pause, lock-screen and notification-shade controls) for the foreground media playback service. If you deny it, the App still works; only the media notification will be absent. The other three editions do not display a media notification and therefore do not request this permission.
7. Network traffic
Applies to: all editions.
Many independent IPTV providers serve their streams over plain HTTP rather than HTTPS. To remain compatible with the services our users actually subscribe to, the App's manifest allows cleartext (HTTP) traffic. As a consequence, the connection between your device and your IPTV provider is only as secure as that provider chooses to make it. All other traffic the App originates — in particular requests to Google's advertising endpoints from the mobile free edition — is over HTTPS.
8. Picture-in-Picture (mobile Pro only)
Applies to: StreamEasy Pro for Android phones & tablets only.
The mobile Pro edition supports Picture-in-Picture: when you press Home during playback, the player continues in a floating window with play / pause and (for series) previous / next episode controls. Picture-in-Picture is an Android OS feature; it does not transmit any data and uses only the same media playback resources described above.
9. Your rights
Applies to: all editions.
Because virtually all of your data lives on your device, you can exercise the following at any time directly inside the App:
- Access: every piece of data the App holds about you is visible in its UI.
- Rectification: edit a profile through Switch profile → Edit.
- Erasure: clear history / favourites / resume via History → Clear history, delete a profile in Switch profile → Edit, or uninstall the App to wipe everything (locally encrypted credentials included).
- Portability: not applicable — the App does not export device-only state, and we hold no copy of it.
If the GDPR (EEA / UK), the LGPD (Brazil), the CCPA / CPRA (California) or any other personal-data law applies to you, you may exercise any additional rights granted by those laws by emailing us at streameasy.support@gmail.com. Note that we can only act on data that we ourselves hold; for data processed by Google AdMob or Google IMA, contact Google directly per their privacy policy.
10. Data retention
Applies to: all editions.
The Developer retains nothing because the Developer receives nothing. Locally, your data persists on your device until you delete it through the App or uninstall the App.
11. Account deletion
Applies to: all editions.
The App does not require, create, or maintain any user account with the Developer. There is no online account to delete. To delete all locally stored data (profiles, history, favourites, settings, encrypted credentials) at once, uninstall the App from your device; Android removes the App's storage in the process. For granular deletion without uninstalling, use the in-App controls described in section 9.
12. Changes to this Policy
If this Policy changes, the new version will be published at this URL with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will also be announced in the App's release notes on Google Play.
